Cascade 205 Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy
Julie grew up in Eugene, Oregon, and did her undergraduate studies at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, where she received a BS in Psychology in 1987. She did her physical therapy training at Boston University, and graduated with a Master’s degree in 1991. Since that time, Julie has been practicing physical therapy in the outpatient orthopedic setting in East Portland. Julie has a long standing relationship with the Cascade Athletic Club.
In addition to providing traditional outpatient physical therapy services, Julie enjoys seeing a wide variety of patients and focuses on patient education and self care training. Her clinical focus is orthopedics. She specializes in lumbar stabilization training, running injuries, and knee and shoulder taping techniques and is well educated in a variety of manual therapy techniques. Julie plays on a women’s soccer team, enjoys trail running, reading and traveling with her husband, two sons and daughter-in-law.
Mitch Mahoney
DPT
Physical Therapist
Mitch grew up in Beaverton, Oregon and attended Oregon State University. He initially studied for a degree in Mechanical Engineering, but during his Freshman year he tore his ACL and was introduced to Physical Therapy. He switched majors shortly after. Mitch received his BS in Exercise and Sports Science, then attended Midwestern University outside of Chicago, IL for his Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
Mitch is a firm believer that much of physical therapy happens outside of the clinic, and works with his patients to give them the education, motivation, and tools they need to recover at home. When he’s not in the clinic, Mitch enjoys staying active, playing guitar, hiking, D&D campaigns, and golfing.
Greg Klein
PTA
Physical Therapist Assistant
Greg graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Mt. Hood Community College in 2009. Since then he has practiced in both inpatient hospital care and outpatient orthopedics while living in Corvallis. In September of 2014, he moved back to Portland and joined the team at Cascade 205.
Greg really enjoys working one on one with people. He has had extensive training in strain counterstrain, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and muscle energy techniques, and has found a combination of these to be most beneficial. He is skilled at progressing patients through corrective exercises, therapeutic activities, identifying compensatory patterns and assessing patient progress.
In his free-time, Greg likes to hike, surf, backpack, do yoga, and he plays upright bass in several music ensembles in the Portland area.
